I think that I have to bring it down to comics, and one thing in particular: Smax the Barbarian. There's a scene where Smax's 'nephews' (they're Dwarves, he's a half ogre, it's long and complicated) are playing Malls and Monsters, a sort of Dungeons and Dragons set in a shopping centre, where they fight of sales demons and the like. It's surprisingly funny.
